“One of this city’s smartest and catchiest pop songwriters.”  LA Weekly

Her style has been described as “beatnik cool,” “pop-noir,” and “slightlydelic pop jangle,” and has evoked comparisons to artists like Aimee Mann, Lucinda Williams and Jackie DeShannon. The LA Weekly cited her as “one of this city’s smartest and catchiest pop songwriters.”  Her 2009 album "Tangle-Free World,” produced by Nelson Bragg of the Brian Wilson Band, showcased influences ranging from Bacharach to The Bangles and back and was chosen by Al Kooper for his “Cream of the Crop” album list. Combining Brill Building hooks with a storyteller's eye for detail, Anny’s live performances infuse the traditionally introspective singer-songwriter format with wit, soul and energy.

Born in Portland, Oregon, Anny spent her teens as a writer/performer with the renowned avante-garde Storefront Theatre.  She then moved to Los Angeles where she co-founded boy/girl rock band The Tearjerkers, honing her musical chops before striking out as a solo artist. After her album "Little Black Dress & Other Stories" was discovered by the Dutch Roots Radio Ring, she began touring Europe and the UK regularly, joining forces with musicians in Germany, The Netherlands, Ireland and the U.K. to perform in clubs, pubs, backyard barns and comic shops. She has performed at music festivals from SXSW to NXNW, New Orleans’ LMNOP Festival, and the Blue Highways Festival in The Netherlands.  Her songs have been heard in films by Tyler Perry and on television in “Once Upon a Time” and “Madam Secretary.”

Throughout her travels Anny has opened up for such musical legends as Steve Forbert, Amy Rigby, Freedy Johnston, Peter Holsapple, Matt the Electrician and The Coal Porters. She has performed and recorded with Austin singer-songwriter Tish Hinojosa and regularly tours throughout the UK with Nelson Bragg and Duncan Maitland (Picturehouse) as one-third of the folk-power-pop trio Celsi, Bragg and Maitland.
